This video was originally a video that I didn’t plan to release. The original look of this video was strange, and even the final you can see some weirdness in the color space. I found the Holy Name Cadets brass line warming up under the world’s largest yellow light in the parking lot of San Antonio. Luckily I caught them just as they played one of their signature tunes, Holsinger’s “On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss” as they finished up their warm up.
This brass line is always great to listen to, mostly because of the chances they take. They do not play it safe, and it’s obvious in the extreme dynamic range they offer as a unit.
Thanks, Cadets, you really made my night with this moment! Thanks also to my friends who convinced me to share this video even though I didn’t want to at first.
