Upon reaching Walnut one question became obvious: How do the Blue Devils sound on their new King brass instruments in 2010? After slapping hands with friends and visiting Mandarins, SCV and Pacific Crest on the way over, the Blue Devils horn arc was too tempting to miss.
The Zoom H4N recorder captures so much more dynamic contrast, and does not have auto gain forced on like the Canon 5D‘s onboard mic that you hear in the 2009 videos. Between that and the stereo effect this new recorder gets, the level of immersion in my 2010 videos makes the 2009 videos sound so flat. Remember the Cadets video from 2009? Sample it’s sound quality compared to this. I’m so happy to have this recorder at my disposal!
